Williston Public School District #1, with community support, will invest in our children’s future by providing adequate tools for lifelong learning skills enhanced through effective integration of technology into the K-12 curriculum. Teachers, administrators, and support staff will become more efficient and effective in facilitating and managing the learning environment by using technology as a tool.

The WPSD Technology department manages the technology environment for the Williston Public School District #1's 7 school buildings, administrative building, warehouse, bus barn, and Headstart.

We are a part of a metro fiber network provided by STAGENet which provides our school district Internet connectivity in addition to Williston State College, local political subdivisions, and some state offices in Williston.  We have a leased fiber infrastructure connecting our 4 elementary schools, HS/MS complex, and administrative building.  This infrastructure provides a gigabit backbone for all of our elementary schools and redundant connections to 3 out of 4 of our elementary schools.  We also use broadband connections with VPN infrastructure to support the needs of Del Easton Alternative School and our warehouse, bus barn, and the Headstart building.

Our network is mostly PC-based and utilizes Active Directory for authentication and access control.

We also have a secure wireless network throughout all of our buildings.  This wireless network also allows for guest users if they request a password.

All of our lab machines, laptop carts, and staff machines are on a replacement schedule of 4-5 years to maintain their reliability.
