You are the 2012 North Dakota History Teacher of the Year. The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, HISTORY®, and Preserve America are honored to celebrate the outstanding work that you do in the classroom. A panel of teachers, administrators, and academics from your state chose you for your use of primary documents in the classroom, the level of inspiration that you provide to your students and your career achievements in education. We thank you for engaging students with dedication and creativity.

You will be recognized at a ceremony within your state. You are also a finalist for the $10,000 National History Teacher of the Year Award. In the coming weeks, your application will be reviewed by a national panel of judges. The winner of the national competition will be announced in the early fall.
In addition, your school will be named a Gilder Lehrman Affiliate School.
