AR TESTING (link on the left) is completed with the student's English teacher. If a student has written permission from his/her teacher, testing can done in the library. Only one test can be taken in a day.
Teachers require the book to be presented when a test is to be taken. However, once a library book has been read, the student can return the book to the library before AR testing and request an "Book Checked Out" slip that verifies the book was checked out and returned to the library. Teachers will accept the slip in place of the book.
In the WHS library, all Accelerated Reader (AR) books have a yellow dot on the spine with the number of points the quiz is worth. The reading level is on the inside flyleaf of the book.
To find out if an unmarked/personally owned book has an AR test, go to www.arbookfind.com and search the title or the author.
Because the company is constantly creating new tests, remember to check the site often--every three weeks or so.
