Nearly all of the money donated to the Williston Coyote Foundation goes to help the schools. There are no salaires for staff. The director volunteers his time. The school provides an office free of charge. The only expenses for operation are for postage, printing, and telephone. Therefore, nearly all of the money gifted to the Foundation goes for helping students learn.

Your donations are used to buy learning materials, classroom supplies and equipment plus scholarships for students who will attend college or vocational school. In 2008-09 the Coyote Foundation gave the schools in the Williston School District No. 1 a grant in the amount of $30,000. A few examples of how the money was used reported by the building principals and teachers are: purchased smart boards for five classrooms; elementary listening centers so students can listen to books on tape; money given to elementary classrooms to buy educational materials teachers often had to purchase out of their own pockets; calculators and a Wii game for special needs students; specialty appliances for foods lab; tools for the buildings & trades classes plus tools for auto-mechanics. These are only a few of the uses reported.
In addition the Coyote Foundation has a scholarship program that has grown. In 1993 the Foundation was able to award one scholarship. In 2009 sixty-one scholarships equaling $24,650 were given to WHS seniors to help with their college expenses.
